Investigators determined a tiny dog named Lacey had been tethered to a tree, struck in the mouth with a golf club, had her eyes sprayed with bleach and left there untreated for four days.

Fresno State sophomore Bhavik Patel is back in California after making a run into the semifinals of the U.S. Amateur Golf Championship in Tulsa, Okla. Patel, who hails from Bakersfield, spent the better part of the last week on national television.
