A shelter set up by the Red Cross at a high school in Rosamond was moved to Hummell Hall Monday after the power intermittently went out at the site. Power was eventually restored by 7:30 Monday evening.

A small, home-built plane crashed into a Rosamond home Saturday morning. The pilot was able to walk away with minor injuries, and no one in the home was hurt.

A 23 year-old driver is killed when his truck rolls over in a field behind Rosamond High School. The California Highway Patrol says he may have been speeding.

The cause of the fire burning near Rosamond was caused by people on All Terrain Vehicles who were seen leaving a remote area frequented by riders. Some residents who lost their homes claim ground crews failed to respond in a timely manner.

Residents forced to evacuate because of the White fire burning near Rosamond claim the Kern County Fire Department did not send in trucks or hand crews to their area in time to prevent homes from being destroyed. The fire department says that's not true.
