The dog found hog-tied in a muddy field and left for dead will get a new home Wednesday. Kern County Animal Control director Guy Shaw joined actress Katherine Heigl and animal advocates at a press conference Tuesday.

Two families are waiting to see if a stray dog that bit their children has any diseases. The stray had been spotted last week, but animal control officers couldn't find it. Monday it attacked two girls when they got off the school bus.

A group of volunteer dog rescuers on Monday made their way to Bakersfield to try and find the people responsible for abusing two puppies and leaving them to die in a field. The puppies were found in an area near Pioneer and Monica streets.

A woman captured video of a woman illegally abandoning kittens in a county sump. Eyewitness News went to the area in question and discovered it's a popular dumping ground for abandoned animals — and it has been happening for months.

A woman accused of animal cruelty in Kern County may be the same woman facing charges in Riverside County. Animal Control officers from Riverside identified the suspect during a court hearing in Mojave on Friday.
