The newest people charged in the Crisp & Cole Realty fraud scheme have accepted plea deals. Kevin and Leslie Sluga appeared Friday in federal court in Fresno. They were charged earlier this week with multiple counts of wire fraud and aiding and abetting.

A former Crisp & Cole associate has taken a plea bargain, marking him the first person in the investigation to face criminal charges. Jerald Teixeira was a loan officer for Tower Lending, the now defunct mortgage arm of Crisp & Cole Realty.

Real estate agent Carl Cole will not lose his license as scheduled on Oct. 15 after being granted a 30 day stay by the California Department of Real Estate, which ruled Sept. 26 that he and partner David Crisp would lose their licenses because of "deceitful practices."
