Eleven farmworkers were injured in a rollover crash early Friday. The farm workers were traveling in a van about 6 a.m. on Wasco Way north of 7th Standard Road when the crash occurred. The driver was airlifted to a hospital.

A 14-year-old boy told deputies that he considered shooting one of them "in the eye" during his arrest Sunday for robbery. The unidentified boy allegedly pointed a handgun at two 13-year-old boys and stole their bicycles, leading to a chase with deputies.

Three teens died Wednesday in a head-on crash on Highway 46 just west of Wasco. The driver of a Toyota Corolla was traveling at a high-rate of speed when he tried to pass slower traffic and ended up losing control, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Low-income families received free weatherization upgrades to their homes on Saturday. The Southern California Gas Company helped 24 Wasco-area homes become more energy efficient by installing weather strips, replacing old furnaces and adding insulation to qualified homes.
