Taft police have arrested a man suspected of killing a 14-year-old girl in a hit-and-run crash. The suspect, Glenn Travis Russell, 46, was found Wednesday morning off Madison Street. He was reportedly working on the damaged front end of a white Jeep Cherokee.
Maricopa's police chief will not be slapped with a restraining order. Resident Lisa Chavez wanted the court order against the chief, saying he had harassed and intimidated her family after shooting their pit bull dog in September.
Adrian Perez, 18, has been transported back to Kern County after his arrest on suspicion of child molestation. A 12-year-old girl came forward in July to tell the Kern County Sheriff's Office that her neighbor on the 500 block of Rose Avenue was molesting her.
