Former Cal State Bakersfield wrestler Stephen Neal can't believe the wrestling team won't be back next season. Neal wants to do everything in his power to help raise the money and do whatever it takes to try and save the program.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Kern County Chapter, along with Terrio Edge, will hold a Night of Champions benefit dinner March 19 at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Drive. All proceeds will go to the FCA Kern County scholarship fund to send local high school athletes to camp for...more team-building and spiritual growth, organizers said. "We are very excited about our inaugural Night of Champions event and plan to do this every year," said Dave Washburn, FCA Kern County director, in a news release. "There are several young men and women in Kern County that would greatly benefit from our camps, both physically and spiritually. This event is another way to provide scholarships to those deserving athletes." The event will include dinner from Hodel's Country Dining, live worship music, live auction and a message from Stockdale High School alum and NFL quarterback David Carr.
